Celebrating MLK Day, January 17, 2022
McGehee, Davis & Associates would like to take a moment to wish all our clients a Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
We observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day each year on the third Monday of January and reflect on the work that still needs to be done for racial equality. This January 17, make the holiday more than just a day off and take time to reflect and take action on civil rights issues across the globe.
Labor unions promoted the concept of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a holiday and after his death a bill was introduced in Congress to make Kings birthday a national holiday. In 1983 President Reagan signed the bill to create a federal holiday honoring Dr. King and the holiday was first observed on January 20, 1986, but it was not until 2000 that it was observed in all 50 states for the first time.
We want all our clients to know that we stand behind them no matter how challenging their situation my be and as Denver’s best tax preparation company, we also treat everyone with the same respect and courtesy they deserve.
This year why not make MLK Day a MDA day and if you haven’t started preparing your 2021 taxes, give us a call and let us help you get started. The earlier you get your taxes prepared the better you’ll feel when the deadline for submitting your taxes for last year approaches.
As Martin Luther King said,
“ If you can’t fly then run, If you can’t run then walk, If you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
Have a Happy MLK Day!
